Commissioners accept sheriff commissary reports, hear museum structural concerns and plan for animal control truck replacement

The Board of Commissioners voted to accept the Sheriff's Department commissary reports for January and February after staff reconciled the accounts. Commissioner Brenda Weaver moved to accept the reports and Commissioner Mark Horner seconded; the motion passed 3-0.

Commissioners also discussed structural issues at the county museum, noting cracking windows tied to building settling and an unresponsive prior architect; they agreed to move to another firm and pursue additional structural evaluation. The highway department reported the animal control pickup is in poor condition and the county will begin a search for a replacement, noting retired highway trucks are likely unsuitable. The board also thanked EMA and highway crews for their storm response during a difficult three-day outage period on Division Road.
