Consultants outline ADA "living document" approach; county to review competing proposals

Tim Clark and a colleague introduced Intact Management Group's ADA and Title VI consulting services, noting the county's obligation as a Title II entity to meet federal accessibility requirements to remain eligible for certain state funds. Clark described a required annual "living document" that inventories noncompliant items in county buildings, including priority levels, estimated costs and completion dates; he also recommended contract language requiring hired contractors to have transition plans or to accept liability for noncompliance.
Janice Hughes said she will interview another consultant to provide a second proposal. Commissioner Mark Horner moved to take the Intact Management Group proposal under advisement pending review of the other consultant's proposal; Commissioner Brenda Weaver seconded and the motion passed 3-0.
