The Morgan County Board of Assessors at a May 26, 2026 meeting approved two 2026 valuation digests and recorded administrative updates ahead of the county’s tax assessment mailing schedule. Chief Appraiser Robert Bailey told the board the "2026 Tax Assessment Notices are projected to be mailed to Taxpayers on June 5th." The meeting began at 9:07 a.m. and adjourned at 10:01 a.m.
Vice Chairman Chris Sides called for motions to approve the AY2026 Freeport Digest and the AY2026 Personal Property Digest; Mr. Kevin Hanville moved and Mr. Jay Moon seconded both motions, and the minutes record both votes as unanimous. The board also signed an ACO to remove Utility Tract U-005-003 from the digest and recorded a revised total utility value for AY2026 of $205,863,084. The next monthly meeting was set for June 23, 2026 at 9:00 a.m.
