Residents attending the public forum told the Payson City Council that a house at 195 East 400 South is being used repeatedly as a wedding and event venue, creating congestion, parking spillover onto the street, late-night noise and trash. "It's every single weekend," one neighbor said, adding that events sometimes run until 10–11 p.m. and that the property is advertised on Airbnb as a reunion/wedding rental.
Councilors and staff responded that the matter is under active review. Staff said a single-family residential unit is permitted on the lot but the city has been in contact with the property owners to establish exactly what is being operated and whether violations exist. "We're working with them to understand exactly what is permitted," a staff speaker said; councilors asked staff to follow up and enforce existing regulations where appropriate.
