Townshend hears GMP presentation on revised easement; board takes no action

Residents raised concerns about overhead wires near the town hall’s façade and asked whether undergrounding was feasible. Tim Jones said undergrounding would be more discreet but “potentially be financially prohibitive” and would require a major redesign, including digging up a nearby intersection and extensive construction. After discussion the chair asked for a motion to approve the revised easement deed; the board did not make a motion at this meeting and asked staff to continue reviewing options.
Board members thanked Tim for his work and indicated they will revisit the easement after further consideration and possible refinements to the language and siting.
