The Townshend Select Board opened its May 2 meeting by approving the April 28, 2026 meeting minutes and voting to pay two payroll warrants ($14,375.10 and $3,457.54) and a highway warrant for $17,083.75. Chair (S1) led the procedural votes early in the meeting and the board adopted the minutes and warrants by voice votes.
During the meeting the board approved several motions: awarding the Wyndham Hill hazardous tree removal contract (see separate article), approving the West Hill slope-stabilization bid for $9,400, authorizing the highway committee to send RFPs to replace a RAM and a 10-wheel dump truck, and renewing the town's propane and heating-oil contracts with Dead River (propane for three years, heating oil for one year). The board also voted to accept grant reimbursements tied to a Fire Pond project and to include an ACH/direct-debit option on FY27 tax bills. An executive session under "BSA 1 3 1 3 a" was held; the board reported no decisions upon exiting.
