Development Services Director Patrick O’Brien told the council the proposal had been previously denied because it would have left an island of unincorporated land; the applicant resubmitted the petition including the surrounding unincorporated acreage. O’Brien emphasized that "this was not the annexation agreement, which would be discussed and approved later. This was just to accept the petition." Council Member Tim Holley moved to adopt Resolution No. 2026-03-10R accepting the petition; Council Member Clark Taylor seconded and the motion passed with the members present.
What happens next: acceptance of the petition advances the annexation process; the annexation agreement and any conditions will be reviewed in subsequent council proceedings.
