Commissioner Jim Tucker told the Morton County Commissioners at a special meeting July 6 that the courthouse HVAC unit is out of service and that his conversation with Kyle of Superior HVAC indicated the coil box may have to be custom made. Tucker said he was "hoping to have a date by the end of this week" for when the part or repair would be completed.
The commissioners instructed county staff that if interior temperatures become unbearable they should treat the situation the same as a snow day for personnel and operations. The board tabled further decisions about repairs and building operations until the commissioners’ regular meeting on Monday, so staff can bring any additional information on timing and options.
A follow-up call from Kyle at Superior HVAC confirmed he expects to know more this week and will keep commissioners updated. The special meeting opened at 1:05 p.m. and recessed after routine business at 1:29 p.m.; further scheduling and any operational closures will be addressed at the next regular meeting.
