LWCD grant resolutions, silent auction support and 2025 accomplishment report approved and forwarded

Heather Palmquist presented the LWCD’s annual grant resolutions and the 2025 Accomplishment Report at the Feb. 19 meeting. The committee voted to approve the standard LWCD grant resolution (to authorize Palmquist to apply for grants under the LWRM Plan) and the DNR Surface Water grant resolution, each to be forwarded to the full county board. Motions to approve were carried on committee votes recorded in the minutes.
Palmquist also requested approval to purchase up to $200 in items for the Wisconsin Land+Water Conference silent auction; the committee approved the purchase on a motion by William Thomas, seconded by Pat Hanson. In reviewing the 2025 Accomplishment Report, Palmquist said the county contributed 9% of LWCD’s operating budget in 2025, the department installed three conservation projects that year, continued outreach/education programming, and added two LTE staff positions for invasive-species work. The accomplishment report will be sent to the full county board for their review.
