Monticello board adopts 2026–27 IASB legislative priorities

The Monticello Community School District Board approved its selections for the Iowa Association of School Boards (IASB) 2026–27 legislative priorities during the July 27 meeting. Board Secretary Judy Hayen presented the selections, and the board voted to adopt them.
The approved priorities are: Supplemental State Aid; Mental Health; Teacher Recruitment and Licensure; and Iowa School Boards Local Accountability and Decision Making. The motion to approve the IASB priorities was made by Creighton Randolph and seconded by John Schlarmann; all four directors present voted in favor.
