Committee approves private-hauling bid specifications for 2026 paving work

The Calumet County Highway Committee approved Feb. 4 a bid packet and schedule for private hauling services to support the county’s 2026 paving projects. Commissioner Chad Scheinoha presented the specifications and the committee approved advertising and schedule identical to the Hot Mix Asphalt solicitation.
The packet will be advertised on the Calumet County website, in the Appleton Post-Crescent and the Tri-County News for the weeks of Feb. 12 and Feb. 19, 2026. Bids are due March 2, 2026 at 9:00 a.m. and will be opened at 9:15 a.m., with results to be reviewed and awarded pending Highway Committee approval on March 11, 2026. The motion was moved by Supervisor Ronald Dietrich and seconded by Supervisor Kathleen Thunes and carried unanimously.
