Ben Hill, representing the Ombudsman Program, told the commission the office opened and closed 25 cases in the last quarter of 2025. He said the matters included allegations of psychological abuse and financial exploitation and that investigators found some billing discrepancies requiring follow-up.
Hill added that the Ombudsman Program can witness advanced healthcare directives for residents in skilled nursing facilities and the Veterans Home and that the office received many calls on that service. Commissioners received the quarterly operational update; no formal action was taken at the meeting.
