Ruston council confirms Planning Commission reappointment and names parking hearing examiner

The Ruston City Council confirmed two personnel actions on June 16. The Mayor recommended Lehr and councilmembers expressed appreciation for his prior service.
The Council also considered Resolution 822 to appoint Jonathan R. Cooper of the Law Offices of Jonathan R. Cooper, PLLC as the City’s Parking Infraction Hearing Examiner and to authorize an agreement for those services. Cooper was the only proposer in response to the City's request for proposals. The resolution authorizes the Mayor to execute the agreement; the contract sets the hearing examiner rate at $350 per hour and non‑attorney services at $175 per hour. The motion to confirm Cooper passed 4–0 with Councilmember Wilson recorded as abstaining because she had not had an opportunity to review the packet materials.
Both appointments were presented as routine confirmations consistent with adopted processes for appointments and contract authorization. The Council approved Resolution 821 and Resolution 822 during the June 16 meeting.
