Troup County honors employees for decades of service

The Troup County Board of Commissioners opened the work session by recognizing employees who have served the county for 25 years or more. A county staff member read biographies for each honoree, and families were invited forward for photographs.
Jasper “Eddie” Lumpkin was presented a 30‑year service award; county staff said Lumpkin started as a jailer and later transitioned to parks and recreation, most recently serving as Recreation Complex Manager. Benjamin (Ben) Reed was also honored for 30 years of service; staff noted Reed’s long involvement with the soccer complex, volunteer work with the Coast Guard Auxiliary Reserves, and community presence at LaGrange High School athletic events. The board thanked the honorees, noting the combined milestone totaled about 150 years of service to Troup County.
