Police Jury adopts ordinance establishing water impact fees for Consolidated District No. 2

At a public hearing on June 17, the Bossier Parish Police Jury adopted Ordinance No. 5117 to amend Chapter 122 (Article III) of the parish code and add Section 122-83 establishing water impact fees for Consolidated Waterworks/Sewerage District No. 2.
Dr. Ken Ward, Parish Administrator, told jurors the district previously had no impact fees and that the proposed schedule mirrors Consolidated District No. 1. The ordinance lists a fee schedule by meter size: 5/8"–1" $1,200; 1½" $3,000; 2" $6,000; 3" $9,600; 4" $19,200; 6" $30,000; 8" $60,000; 10" $96,000; 12" or larger to be determined. "Consolidated Waterworks/Sewerage District No. 2 of the Parish of Bossier does not currently have impact fees in place," Ward said, explaining the change would align District No. 2 with District No. 1.
The ordinance was offered by Mr. Glenn Benton, seconded by Mr. Julian Darby, and adopted unanimously with recorded ayes from all 11 jurors present. The ordinance includes a formal addition of Sec. 122-83 and reserves sections 122-84 through 122-90. The jury did not record any public comment opposing the ordinance during the hearing.
