Keep Bossier Beautiful details recycling, plantings and $15,000 grant for South Bossier Park

Lynn Bryan, representing Keep Bossier Beautiful, presented the group's annual review to the Bossier Parish Police Jury on June 17, highlighting recycling, volunteer clean-ups and park improvements.
Bryan said the parish recycling program associated with the jail diverted about 102,000 pounds of material last year and that the organization collected 11.5 tons of debris during this year’s Operation Clean Sweep. She described tree-planting efforts across parish parks — including 25 dogwoods and 25 bald cypress — and partnerships with local schools for campus clean-ups and an i3 Art Expo that included a “Trashion Show.” "We’ve had tremendous volunteer support and local partnerships this year," Bryan said.
Bryan also announced that Keep Bossier Beautiful received roughly $15,000 from Keep America Beautiful to fund enhancements at South Bossier Park: a flag plaza, new landscaping, park benches and a time capsule slated for placement June 26, 2026. She invited jurors to the event and said contributions for the capsule would be accepted through June 24. "The time capsule will be opened in 50 years," Bryan said.
The presentation noted private-sector partnerships, including sponsorship from AEP SWEPCO and Coca-Cola Bottling Company in Shreveport. The jury recorded no public opposition during the presentation and did not take a formal vote on the report.
