Nate Kimball, assistant director overseeing the owner‑occupied rehab program, reviewed four radon testing quotes and recommended selecting AirX‑Ray at $99 per unit for the first 60 approved homes, pending verification with the state licensing board. Commissioners approved the selection and noted mitigation costs would be charged in addition to testing and must be addressed before households move forward in the grant process.
Kimball said mitigation costs can be included as part of the rehabilitation grant up to the program cap of $25,000 per household and reported more than 100 completed applications are in the queue. The action will allow the program to proceed with radon testing as homes move to the mitigation and repair phase.
