County employees receive LTAC Road Scholar and Roadmaster awards

The LTAC presenter noted that in 2025 the program delivered 156 classes across six districts with 2,904 attendees and awarded 156 Road Scholar and 91 Roadmaster designations. New classes, including a seal‑coat course and a traffic control design specialist elective, were announced. The presenter said a 4‑day training to prepare applicants for the WAC certification exam will be offered starting June 1 to address exam preparedness concerns.
Award recipients named by the presenter included Micah Woody, Robbie Garner, Nancy Balderson, James Bloom, Justin Hayes, Curtis Olsen and Cody Heinekens; the commission invited recipients for a group photograph after the presentation. Commissioners noted the training helps the county qualify for grant points and supports employee retention and advancement.
