Jefferson County approved awarding a construction contract to Rock Creek Construction for enclosure of a wash pad and installation of a chemical storage room for the Road & Bridge shop.
Staff presented the project scope (2x6 framed exterior chemical room with spray‑in insulation and capacity to add a furnace if budget permits) and read three bids: Rock Creek Construction ($32,391), High Valley Contractors ($33,009.21...) and Western Builders ($48,550). Commissioners asked about electrical work exclusions, interior finish, insulation and schedule; staff said electrical would be handled separately by the county electrician and that the structure is primarily for storage and winter freeze protection. After discussion a commissioner moved to award the contract to Rock Creek; the motion passed by roll call with unanimous ayes.
Staff said building permits and coordination with the county building department will follow and that they expect construction to be scheduled as crews are available.
