Lancaster County approves multiple grants and contracts including $250,000 emergency shelter award

At its July 28 meeting the Lancaster County Board of Commissioners approved a consent agenda that included multiple contract amendments and grant awards to local nonprofits and service providers.
Staff read the consent items aloud and noted they are routine business expected to be adopted without dissent; commissioners approved the package by a single vote. Highlighted awards included $250,000 to Cedars Youth Services for the Pioneer Center emergency shelter program and $200,000 to the Lincoln Community Foundation for a homelessness prevention program. Other grants included $137,500 to Good Neighbor Community Center for basic needs food access and nutrition and multiple awards to Lighthouse for restorative-practices and youth programs.
The consent agenda also included engineering and highway contracts (crack sealing, bridge repairs), an off-site shredding agreement, and a midterm treasurer report on distressed warrants. Each item was adopted as part of the single consent vote unless removed for separate consideration.
