Brookfield council hears plan to require professional-review fees for plats and conditional-use applications

Acting Mayor Gary Mahkorn read the City’s request at 8:01 p.m. for ordinance changes to Titles 16 and 17 that would require applicants to pay additional fees to cover professional review of plats, certified survey maps, conditional use or planned development districts and plan-and-method-of-operation applications. "The request is to add requirements that applicants pay additional fees for professional review," the record states.
City Attorney Jenna Merten reviewed the accompanying memo and the proposed ordinance, explaining the changes were intended to clarify and standardize application processing. Alderperson Jason Anderson moved "to close the public hearing," a motion seconded by Alderperson Chuck Bloom III and carried unanimously at 8:05 p.m. The Council did not take additional action on the ordinance at the meeting; the item will proceed in the legislative process if placed on a future agenda.
