Public works staff presented proposed updates to the county’s minimum road design and maintenance standards that clarify materials and provide options for Community Improvement District (CID) projects. Staff explained the new language addresses light bituminous surfaces and options for non-bridge-sized structures when removing inventory for CID work.
Commissioner Nathan Leiker moved to adopt resolution R-026-06 to formalize the Ellis County minimum road design and construction standards; the motion was seconded and the commission approved the resolution. Staff said the changes create a framework for developers and CIDs (for example, Stonehill North) to reference when preparing petitions and determining maintenance and construction options.
