Ellis County signs KDOT PLDIP grant for Sleamer Bridge replacement

Public works staff reported that Ellis County received a Kansas Department of Transportation (KDOT) PLDIP grant award late last year for project number 26-5390-01 (Sleamer Bridge). Staff said the next step is to sign and return the state grant agreement and asked the commission to approve the agreement and the permanent removal of two small off-system structures from the county inventory as required for the project.
Commissioner Nathan Leiker moved to approve and sign the KDOT agreement for project 26-5390-01 for the KLBIP program grant; the motion was seconded and the board approved the action. Staff described replacement work (including culvert replacements and headwall construction) and reported that one off-system structure had already been replaced in February. The commission recorded the approval and directed staff to proceed with the paperwork and contract signature.
