Health director reports grants, community garden and $50,000 suicide-prevention award

Dana Rickley, Clay County Health Director, told commissioners the community garden "will allow individuals to have fresh grown vegetables to eat this summer" and that the department is administering Pathways and Rural Health Transformation grants. Rickley said the Health Department will host its quarterly Health Fair this week and that the public must call to make an appointment.
Rickley reported that Clay Counts received another $50,000 grant to support suicide-prevention efforts, which she described as "wonderful for our community." The Board acknowledged the grants and discussed outreach and scheduling for the Health Fair.
