Highway Administrator Bobby Shomper presented two bids for asphalt on Utah Road and recommended the three-mile option. "Starting at 18th Rd. going north 3 miles on Utah Rd. - $641,525," the board record states. Commissioner Mayo moved to approve the three-mile package with a leveling layer and a 2-inch mat; Commissioner Carlson seconded and the motion passed unanimously.
The three-mile alignment will extend the new asphalt to the Green city limits and will be paid from the Bridge Improvement Sales Tax Fund. Commissioners and staff discussed placement and project scope before voting to authorize the work.
