Stacy Long, a Brookfield resident of Governor’s Road and mother of three, asked the Select Board to explore a formal partnership with Wakefield Parks & Rec that would give Brookfield families resident-level access and priority registration for youth sports, fireworks, and community events. She said many Brookfield families already use Wakefield facilities and tied the proposal to the town master plan goal of attracting and retaining families.
Long volunteered to help gather information and make connections with Wakefield. Chair Richard Zacher said he would take an action item to discuss partnership options and estimated costs with Wakefield and report back to the board.
