At its March 18 meeting, the Houston County Board approved a package of procurement and contract items covering public safety, roads, and facility projects.
Key approvals included a bid of $41,121 for one Ford F-150 for Animal Control (to replace a 2010 vehicle), a bid of $154,500 for a 2026 Freightliner tandem dump truck for Roads and Bridges (delivery June 2025), and a $132,287 contract award to Reames and Son Construction Company for paving the Haul Road at the Solid Waste Disposal Facility. The school zone flashing sign quote from Temple, Inc., is a five-year fixed cost of $31,578.04 with $1,357.94 per unit every five years thereafter; installation will be performed with assistance from the City of Warner Robins Traffic Signal Department.
