St. Bernard Council adopts 2026 tax levy ordinance for parish districts

The council adopted Ordinance SBPC #2725 (Summary No. 4344) on April 21, 2026, levying and imposing specific 2026 taxes on property subject to taxation in St. Bernard Parish and in Road Lighting District No. 1, Road District No. 1, Garbage District No. 1, Fire Protection District No. 1 and Fire Protection District No. 2.
The Council Chair opened an additional public hearing on the item; the minutes record that no one from the public spoke on the ordinance. The motion to adopt was carried unanimously by the members recorded present (Yeas: Cusimano, Moran, Meyer, Randall, McCloskey; Chair Everhardt YEA; Amanda Mones absent). The ordinance text showing the levy rates and affected tax districts is on file in the Clerk of Council’s office.
