Noemi Lopez, City Planner, told the council the property at 107 Aaron St. (Property ID 3557) is currently zoned Single‑Family Residential–5; the applicant, Jose Leon, asked to rezone a portion to Commercial to operate an event center. Lopez said the proposed building capacity is 50 people, which requires 17 parking spaces under city standards, and that 12 of 20 nearby property owners returned approval notices.
Mayor Aaron Smith opened the public hearing and, with no comments from the public, closed it. Bonnie Hambrick read the ordinance caption for the first reading. Council did not take a final vote at this meeting.
