County staff propose landfill fee changes and expanded summer hours at County Line Landfill
Summary
Public Works staff told commissioners that County Line Landfill currently lacks some fees for materials being accepted and proposed adding fees and opening Wednesdays–Saturdays from April 1 through the end of October.
Brandy Ward and Public Works Director Mike Carter told the board the County Line Landfill is accepting materials for which current fee structures are inadequate, particularly from out-of-county haulers. They recommended adding fees for certain accepted items and asked for board direction on potential changes.
Staff also proposed expanding County Line's seasonal hours to open Wednesday through Saturday beginning April 1 and continuing through the end of October. The board did not adopt new fees at the March 2 meeting; staff said a financial-assurance estimate is still pending and remains tabled.
