Commissioner-elect Lashon Rudd withdraws from District 93 appointment, endorses Hardaway

Lashon Rudd addressed the Shelby County General Government Committee on May 6 and said she would withdraw her candidacy for the Tennessee House District 93 interim appointment.
Rudd said she has served the district for more than 15 years, described her work on Democratic committees and noted that she had recently been elected as a county commissioner. She told the committee she would respectfully withdraw her interest and offered support for TJ Hardaway as an interim representative.
After Rudd’s statement the committee continued with other candidates and ultimately moved the appointment to the full Commission without recommendation.
