Commissioners table county road-standards ordinance to include absent member

After a presentation, Jefferson County commissioners tabled Ordinance #2026-03 (road standards and drawings) and a related resolution to next week's meeting so an absent commissioner can participate.
Public Works Director Mike Carter and County Engineer Sam Scott presented Ordinance #2026-03, a proposed update to Jefferson County public works road standard specifications and drawings that would standardize design, construction and utility-easement requirements across county rights-of-way.
No members of the public signed up to speak. Chairman Hancock and Commissioner Young said they preferred to have Commissioner Clark present for the discussion; by motion they tabled Ordinance #2026-03 and the companion Resolution #2026-15 to the following week's meeting. The motion passed by roll call (Commissioner Young aye, Chairman Hancock aye; Commissioner Clark absent).
