Pawnee County raises daily inmate maintenance reimbursement, adopts Resolution 2026-R-007

The Pawnee County Board of Commissioners voted unanimously on April 20 to increase the county's daily inmate maintenance reimbursement rate, adopting Resolution 2026-R-007.
Sheriff Larry Atteberry and Undersheriffs Josh Huff and Jason Reece briefed commissioners on when Pawnee County charges housing fees — for example, when the county holds someone on a municipal warrant or temporarily houses inmates for another jurisdiction. Commissioners asked about rates charged by surrounding counties as part of their review before voting. The motion to adopt the resolution was made by Commissioner Burdett and seconded by Commissioner Miller; the motion passed 3–0.
Undersheriff Huff also reported that some dash and body cameras are now in use in the department. Sheriff Atteberry provided the most recent jail census numbers to the board, noting there were two inmates on the prior Friday morning and 11 inmates the morning of the meeting.
