County to terminate one farm lease and notify other lessees as rent terms end Dec. 31

Emily Franks, Jay County Auditor, informed commissioners that all four farm rent leases expire effective Dec. 31, 2024 and asked how staff should proceed. The board instructed staff to terminate the 68A land lease and to send a termination letter by Oct. 1 giving the current lessees notice and the right to bid in the future after Readi 2.0 awards are announced.
Commissioners also discussed three leases at the county home and approved sending termination notices and setting future lease terms at three years. The actions were approved by unanimous vote.
