Board approves broad consent agenda of hires, extra-duty contracts and volunteers

The consent package listed new hires including Heather Brewer (WGS special education teacher, 25/26 temporary), Jake Mullins (WMS dean of students), Dennis O’Reilly (WHS CTE teacher), and Summer Gann (WGS teacher, 25/26 temporary). It also included dozens of extra-duty contracts across high school and middle school athletics and activities (for example, Ryker Thornton as WHS Athletic Director; Mike McClure as WHS Band Director; multiple head and assistant coaches for football, basketball, baseball, softball, track, volleyball and wrestling), volunteer approvals, and extended single-period contracts for the 2025/26 school year.
Director Mark Simonsen moved to approve the consent agenda and Director Krystal Pike seconded. Director Tabbitha McGrorty and Director Crystal Green noted conflicts of interest prior to the vote. The motion carried with five aye votes and two abstentions.
