Vernonia SD 47J board approves integrated guidance plan to access roughly $1.917 million for student supports

Staff described two minor adjustments required by the state: vendor consultants needed to be on an approved Oregon list (the district will complete that approval process) and early-literacy funds had to be restricted to K–3 grades, so the presentation adjusted previously broader use of the funds.
The board moved and seconded to approve the integrated guidance plan for 2025–27 and adopted it by voice vote. Staff said leftover early-literacy dollars from the previous biennium would be used for training and that approximately $4,243,000 would be moved from the early literacy fund for a K–12 ELA adoption (staff clarified this was a high-level budget adjustment and that detailed grant budgets would be followed). The plan will come back as part of the regular action items and was passed at the meeting.
