Superintendent Jim Helmen told the board that the summer learning program currently enrolls 68 students with 12 staff members and provides transportation, breakfast and lunch. At K–5 the focus is literacy; middle and high school offerings include credit recovery, enrichment and math intervention.
Helmen also said the district is collecting community input for a proposed cell‑phone mandate as Phase 1 of the plan. He has sent a parent survey and will send it again to gather broader feedback; additional information on the proposal is expected at the board's August meeting.
