Drew, a town staff member, presented design options and site layouts for a new set of entry monument signs and asked the boards whether staff should proceed with the prioritized sites. "These will have landscaping around them, so we need water and they'll be backlit," he told the boards while showing two layout styles and six candidate locations.
Staff recommended prioritizing sites 1, 3 and 5 for immediate work and described site-specific constraints: Site 1 (Harvest / 407) is near a Bank of America and a gas line, requiring careful placement and property negotiations; a Del Earnhardt / Hwy. 114 site was moved because a property owner's billboard and floodplain issues made the original location unsuitable and lacks immediate water/electric; and a Robeson Ranch / Gibbs median location was proposed as a smaller column-format sign in the town's right of way because electricity is available there.
Board members asked practical questions about setbacks and sightlines; staff estimated a 50–60 foot setback from Robeson Ranch Road for visibility and said the 114 site would be visible at grade from the highway. The board agreed the recommended prioritization was appropriate and asked staff to continue working with property owners and engineers on easements and utility designs.
