The Patrick County Board of Supervisors approved $63,305.22 in capital funding on March 9 for the Patrick Springs Volunteer Fire Department to purchase equipment to support a heavy rescue truck. Emergency Management Coordinator Scottie Cassell explained the ESAC committee had recommended partial funding earlier and that this request covers the remaining items needed for the unit to operate countywide.
The board voted unanimously to approve the appropriation (motion by Steve Marshall, seconded by Clayton Kendrick). The meeting packet included multiple vendor quotes and detailed line-item lists of tools, thermal cameras, extraction systems, and other rescue gear; staff directed the department to proceed with procurement and to provide invoices for the county's records.
