VDOT reports maintenance budget status and schedules county road projects

Assistant Residency Administrator Brian Lokker presented the monthly VDOT report on April 14, reporting a FY26 routine maintenance budget of $1,623,052 with $990,514 expended to date. He outlined the status of construction project UPC 127078 (PM3C26), noting a notice-to-proceed on June 2, 2026 and a fixed completion date of November 20, 2026 for multiple segments affecting Route 45 and other county roads.
VDOT also provided traffic volume data cited in the report: 430 vehicles per day on Route 45 (Cartersville Road) at Route 647 and 450 vehicles per day on Route 601 (Clinton Road) between Route 647 and Route 60. The report included references to routine maintenance, SSYP items and a Clinton Road traffic study; no board action was recorded on these items at the April 14 meeting.
