Paul Peterson, superintendent of South Coast ESD, briefed the board on the Local Service Plan (LSP), explaining the review process and the plan's structure. "This plan was reviewed by the area's 10 school district superintendents this fall, and they voted to approve the plan on November 20," Peterson said, adding that the South Coast ESD board also voted unanimously on Dec. 9.
Peterson described the plan as providing flexibility for districts to choose from a menu of services and noted tier 2 services account for roughly 95% of ESD resolution dollars, with tier 1 core services (such as audiology testing and birth-to-3 evaluations) comprising about 5%. After a motion and second, the board approved agenda item 8.1 (the local service plan) by voice vote.
