Tax Administrator Travis Isaac walked the board through the county’s sales-ratio analysis and the mechanics of an in-house revaluation ahead of the January 1, 2027 effective date. Isaac said a sales-ratio decline below the state threshold required a reappraisal and described the county’s plan to deliver a schedule of values by late September or Oct. 1, after which taxpayers will have "about 21 days to review those pretty much, and those will be open for public inspection in the tax office if someone wants to come by and look at them."
Isaac and county staff outlined outreach steps — public meetings in civic centers, a revamped website, updated property-record cards and a new online appeal process — and noted the county is performing the revaluation in-house to save an estimated approximately $1,000,000 versus contracting the work. The board asked clarifying questions and accepted the presentation; staff will return as the schedule-of-values is finalized.
