Coquille SD 8 will use $109,000 summer-learning grant; seismic grant application not funded

In his report Wayne told the committee the district had been notified of a $109,000 award from the Oregon Department of Education for a summer-learning (Summer Plus) program and that the district must offer transportation and meals as part of the program. "We are going to receive a 109,000 for summer learning or summer plus," he said.
Wayne also said the district's $2,500,000 seismic grant application was not funded; staff received reviewer feedback and plan to revise and reapply in the next funding cycle. He said the funds would have supported seismic work on district buildings and that the district will continue to pursue capital funding opportunities.
