Summary
The Selectboard approved and signed the warning for the 2026 Town Meeting scheduled March 3, 2026, and decided to delay placing a salt shed article on the warning because of financing uncertainty; a pre-Town Meeting information session and a later special meeting were scheduled to address the shed.

The Town of Newbury Selectboard voted to approve and sign the warning for the 2026 Town Meeting, set for March 3, 2026. The motion to approve the warning was moved by Selectboard member Shauna Prime and seconded by Jeff McKelvey; the Board signed the document during the Jan. 21 meeting.
Before approving the warning, the Board discussed a proposed new salt shed. Highway Foreman Mike Hastings said a new shed should be 65 ft. by 40 ft. to meet town needs, and member Shauna Prime noted that because the project would not be a State-managed job the ultimate cost might be lower than some vendor estimates. Given financing uncertainties, the Board decided not to place the salt shed article on the Town Meeting warning; instead it will introduce shed options at a pre-Town Meeting information session and schedule a later special meeting for a dedicated vote.
