Montgomery MCC approves minutes, buys $25 gift certificate for logo winner and readies fall outreach

The Montgomery Conservation Commission approved routine administrative items and scheduled community outreach at its Sept. 3 meeting.
Cliff Loos moved and Matt Paggi seconded approval of the commission’s minutes from Aug. 6, 2025; all present voted in favor. Cliff Loos later moved, seconded by Kip Potter, that the MCC purchase a $25 Amazon gift certificate as a prize for the logo-design contest winner; the motion carried unanimously. Lynn Locher reported she will contact the contest contact (Sandy Alexander) to request a jpeg of the winning logo and that a thank-you note was circulated for the designer, Maverick Sylvester.
The commission reported that the Aug. 23 Farmer’s Market went well and agreed to staff a table at the Sept. 27 market; volunteers listed were Marielle Ambroch, Cliff Loos, Kip Potter and Lynn Locher. The MCC is finalizing a brochure draft by Kip and will have it available at the Sept. 27 market. Raffle tickets continue to be sold (three for $5 or seven for $10) with a drawing set for the commission’s Oct. 1, 2025 meeting. Lynn also said the MCC intends to replace a dead tree this fall for the MES 2025 graduating class; Patrick Calecas will look into a source for the replacement tree.
Finally, Cliff Loos said he plans to attend the Association of Vermont Conservation Commissions regional meeting on Oct. 11, 2025 in Hardwick. The meeting adjourned at 7:03 p.m.; the adjournment motion was made by Lynn Locher and seconded by Marielle Ambroch and passed unanimously.
