The Isle La Motte Selectboard unanimously approved spending $1,750 to have contractor Jamie Oliver patch, prep and apply two coats of paint to the town kitchen.
Vice-Chair Peter Brzozowy explained the special meeting was called because a painter was available to complete the work before flooring contractors arrive on March 16, 2026; Brzozowy presented a quote from Jamie Oliver for $1,750 that covers patching, prep and two coats. Brzozowy moved to approve the expenditure and Mary-Catherine Graziano seconded; "all in favor" was recorded and the motion carried. Assistant Town Clerk Karen Brunner was assigned to contact the contractor to schedule the work.
The approval is limited to the single quoted amount and scope provided at the meeting: patching, surface preparation and two coats of paint. The board did not discuss alternate contractors, different paint specifications, or additional funds. The decision was procedural and time-sensitive to coordinate painting before the scheduled flooring work.
The board opened at 3:33 PM and moved immediately to the single substantive agenda item; the motion to approve the painting expenditure was recorded during that discussion and carried unanimously.
