PC flags inconsistencies on signs, home occupations and flood hazard standards

At the meeting PC members flagged a conflict between the sign section (allowing a sign up to 8 square feet) and the home occupation section, which currently states no signs are allowed. The PC asked the bylaws to clarify whether signs should be allowed for home occupations and to harmonize the two sections.
Members also directed updates to Section 7.1 to align accessory dwelling unit (ADU) definitions with state statute and to change group home standards to remove the now‑illegal 1,000‑foot separation requirement. The NRPC crosswalk recommended replacing Article 8 (Flood Hazard & River Corridors) with model standards and provided a flood hazard crosswalk as options for the commission to consider.
