Gettysburg council approves staff raises and adopts temporary appropriations ordinance as emergency

At the Jan. 8 meeting the council approved personnel compensation changes and a budget ordinance. Dan May moved to give Fiscal Officer Heather Canan a 3% raise and Village Administrator Aaron Flora a 5% raise, and to raise Street Supervisor Matt Sheard’s hourly pay to $18.50. Kelsey Chrisman seconded; Jennifer Flora abstained from the vote. The motion passed.
Council also considered Ordinance 2026-2 to set temporary appropriations for fiscal year 2026. The council approved first reading, suspended rules for second and third readings, adopted Ordinance 2026-2, and adopted it as an emergency in the same session. No vote tallies were recorded in the transcript beyond motions being "passed and carried."
