Administrators told the board that facilities work is nearly complete and the district is prepared for the upcoming Open House on Aug. 29.
Chris Marana said summer hiring filled many positions, kindergarten screening was held in early August, summer school concluded for the year and "the building has a few projects still wrapping up and will be ready for the Open House on August 29." Griffin Lawson added that the outdoor space is improving and custodial crews have been working hard to prepare buildings. Trustee Crystal LaFreniere asked about parking-lot cameras and noted the lot is dark at night; President Ron Mariani commented positively about police presence improving the parking-lot situation.
No formal actions were recorded on facilities at the meeting; facilities staff hires and grounds approvals were handled in separate personnel motions. Further updates on camera installation and lighting were not provided in the minutes.
