Blakely hears notices of state funding, pension payment and a small settlement
Summary
Borough officials reported incoming state distributions and a small class-action settlement check, and the Auditor General reported no wrongdoing in the 2023 Liquid Fuels Fund audit.
Borough Secretary Christopher R. Paone read several letters and reports to the council on Oct. 21. The correspondence included a 2023 PURTA distribution of $930.78; a PennDOT notice that the 2025 Liquid Fuels and Turnback payment of $191,436.51 is expected around March 1, 2025; and notice from the Pennsylvania Auditor General that the borough's 2024 municipal pension payment of $280,148.67 was deposited Sept. 25, 2024.
Mr. Paone also read a letter informing the borough it would receive a $2,100 check from Hino Motors LTD as a class‑action settlement for emissions violations. The Auditor General's report of the 2023 Liquid Fuels Fund indicated no wrongdoing and that proper accounting procedures were followed.
Council accepted those communications as part of the meeting record. The amounts will be reflected in upcoming budget and accounting work.
